General Info:
- Program runs July 6th to August 16th
- 6x Weeks of University-style training (see below)
- 1x Scrimmage Trip to Calgary/Edmonton August 13-16, to scrimmage top teams in the area (for U14+ groups)
- 1x Jersey by Jumplete Canada
- 2x Practice Tee & Hoodie
- Program Cost: $1,299 + Trip Expenses (TBD, last year $500 / player)
Each Week Features:
- 2x 2.5 Hour Team Practices Weekly at our training facility in Kelowna
- 1x 1 Hour Individual Positional Practice Weekly (Setter, Passing, Hitting, Middles)
- 1x 1 Hour Sports Psychology Session Weekly with Jadon Ward (MA, MA, RCC, CCC)
- 1x 1 Hour Agility / Strength Training Session Weekly with Elevate Training Kelowna
- 1x 1 Hour Guest Speaker (last year's schedule included talks on rehab / injury prevention, body image in sport, healthy eating, and how to promote yourself to college coaches).
Tryout Details
- June 8-12 @ Kelowna Christian Middle School (Times TBA)
NextGen Training is an intentional effort to bring high-performance volleyball training to athletes of all backgrounds in Kelowna BC. The program is the brain child of Genesis Athletics Club Director Jadon Ward, who got the idea while working with Team BC in their Regional Training Centre. NextGen Training centers around their “four pillars” philosophy – technical skills, mental fortitude & resilience, agility & strength training, and team play dynamics. "My experience with Team BC - both as a player and then as a coach - is that we see a dramatic development in athletes who play volleyball year-round and have access to experienced technical training. We need more opportunities for this kind of athletics in our community."
NextGen Training is a part of Genesis Athletics Club, a community-based registered non-profit society based in Kelowna, BC. Through volleyball we promote an active lifestyle to people of all backgrounds. We believe that when you do one thing well, you do everything well. By giving youth a chance to participate and take pride in sports, that impact spills into other areas of their lives. Refund Policy: A full refund will be given (minus bank fees) to withdrawals more than a week before camp opens. Otherwise there are no refunds (credit towards future programming will be given in case of late withdrawal with injury)
